Could someone please explain how the new MCAT is different? I have old books and I want to know which ones of those I can still use. Thanks!

    Hey Molly,

There are many differences between the new one and old one, the biggest being that the new MCAT has a psychology and sociology section. Also, each section is longer, being 95 minutes long. It is still similar in format, with mostly passage based questions but a few non-passage based questions for each section. For CARS, it is still the same, except there are no passages on natural science on the new exam anymore. The biology as well as the chemistry and physics sections are a bit different but I don’t know the specifics. All I know is there is much less physics and ochem, and there is now biochem on the new exam.

    Hope this helps you!
